The Citrus reticulata comes from a citrus tree that is part of the Rutaceae family and is native to East Asia, although it is grown worldwide. It grows up to 4 meters in height and generally has thorns. Its leaves are shiny, green, and rather small; the fruit resembles small oranges.
Even though Tangerine was first grown in Florida in the 1800s; it is named after the city of Tangier, after it was imported through Morocco.
