Eucalyptus (Globulus) Essential Oil
The Eucalyptus globulus trees are members of the Myrtaceae family. The trees have bluish-green leaves, and it is also known as blue gum. It is an evergreen tree native to Australia with an average height of 90 to 180 feet. It has narrow leaves, from which the essential oil is extracted.
When first discovered in Australia, Eucalyptus (Globulus) treated everything from a cough to skin diseases. Eucalyptus (Globulus) leaves were minced to use for respiratory ailments, wounds, ulcers, aching joints, fevers, and dysentery. Today you could find Eucalyptus (Globulus) in cough syrups, toothpaste, and cosmetics.
